Where the Vernon Secondary catchment is

The VSS catchment covers East Hill, the BX, the Foothills, the Vernon side of Middleton Mountain and the rural land east toward the Lumby catchment, including Silver Star Road. Its feeder elementary schools are BX, Hillview and Silver Star, plus the east side of Harwood.

About Vernon Secondary School

  • Grades: 8 to 12, about 930 students.
  • Building: rebuilt in 2013, a LEED Gold school with geothermal heating.
  • Programs: French, German and Spanish; a High Performance Program for elite athletes and fine-arts students; ACE-IT apprenticeships; Professional Cook Training with Camosun College; and EarthQuest, a Grade 11 outdoor program running since 1982.
