Life at The Rise
The Rise is a master-planned hillside community in the Bella Vista highlands, on the north side of the Vernon Arm of Okanagan Lake, about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Vernon. It's built around a Fred Couples signature golf course that opened in 2008, sitting roughly 400 metres above the lake, so many homes look straight out over Okanagan Lake and the Landing.
Vineyards were planted on the slopes when the community started, and it still has that open, rural feel, with trails and big skies. Kin Beach and the Tronson Road boat launch are about five minutes down the hill.
It's a big community that's still growing. Seacliff Properties bought the remaining development land in 2017, and new phases keep coming, so you'll find newer homes, townhomes and building lots side by side.
Pockets and phases
- Ledge at The Rise: a townhome community by Aldebaran Homes at 7735 Okanagan Hills Boulevard, with one- to three-bedroom homes.
- Vineyard Way, Cordon Place, Balsam Court and Harvest Court: single-family homes, many with walkout basements and lake views.
- Silversage Terrace and Silversage Bluff Lane: view lots and newer custom homes on the upper slopes.
Some pockets are strata or bare land strata, with their own fees and bylaws. I'll pull the details on any home you're serious about.

Schools
The Rise sits in School District 22 near a catchment boundary, so the school depends on your exact street. Most homes on the north side of the Vernon Arm are served by Okanagan Landing Elementary or Alexis Park Elementary, and by Clarence Fulton Secondary or W.L. Seaton Secondary. Confirm your address with the SD22 school locator before you buy.
- Okanagan Landing Elementary (K–7). In the heart of the Landing's waterfront district, with a playground that looks out over the lake. Local families rave about the teachers. Fraser Institute 2023 rating: 5.9 out of 10.
- W.L. Seaton Secondary (Grades 8–12). Home of Vernon's French Immersion secondary program, and well known for drama, musical theatre and award-winning music.
- Clarence Fulton Secondary (Grades 8–12). A 30-acre campus beside Grahame Park, with strong athletics, arts and trades, the district's largest international program, and the AWAKEN outdoor and inquiry program.
