Life in Bella Vista
Bella Vista is the big hillside area on the north side of the Vernon Arm of Okanagan Lake, west of downtown. The name says it all: much of it looks out over the lake, the Landing and the valley. It covers a lot of ground, from older view homes near Bella Vista Road and Lakeridge Drive to newer master-planned communities higher up.
It's a neighbourhood with room to grow. The City's Bella Vista West plan, adopted in 2010, covers about 296 hectares off Tronson Road and allows for roughly 1,200 homes at full build-out, along with new parks and trails. Frind Estate Winery's vineyards are on the slopes south of Bella Vista Road.
For fun, you've got Kin Beach and the Tronson Road boat launch at the bottom of the hill, the Grey Canal Trail running across the slope, and golf at The Rise.
