Ski-in, ski-out on SilverStar's North Ridge
The Ridge is one of SilverStar Mountain Resort's newer residential neighbourhoods, started in 2006 on the North Ridge. Homes are ski-in, ski-out, with skier overpasses so you can glide home over the roads. Streets include Cathedral Drive and Purcell Drive.
Lots range from about a seventh of an acre to nearly half an acre, and you'll find both building lots and finished chalets. Recent prices have run from about $400,000 for a lot to about $1.4 million for a home.
Rental rules to know
Short-term rentals are allowed at The Ridge, which makes it popular with owners who want their chalet to help pay its way. Legal suites are not permitted. Rules can change, so I'll confirm the current covenants and bylaws on any property.

Getting around
Downtown Vernon is about 30 to 35 minutes down the hill, and Kelowna International Airport is about an hour. For families living up the mountain full time, SilverStar is in School District 22's BX Elementary and Vernon Secondary catchment; confirm with the SD22 school locator.
